ABOUT

Yuki Sato is a photographer. Growing up in Hokkaido, north Japan, Yuki spent the first half of his life surrounded by deep snow. In his early twenties he picked up a camera and became fascinated by the world through the lens. After graduating from university, he began his photography career in Sapporo, and 5 years later moved to New Zealand in 2007. He is currently based in Auckland and is father of two daughters.

Yuki likes the moment when a random and unexpected element alters the perfectly controlled environment of a shoot.

フォトグラファー。北海道に生まれ育ち、２０代の半ばまで人生の半分を雪とともに過ごす。学生時代にカメラと出会い、それを介して見える世界に魅せられる。卒業後札幌にてフォトグラファーとして始動、２００７年ニュージーランドに移住。現在オークランドを拠点に活動中。二児の父。

完全にコントロールされた撮影環境を好むも、その過程で起こる偶然性に惹かれつつ、日々撮影に臨む。
